Our Pet Policy

I am a responsible pet owner, and as such, I will abide by the following regulations set out by Ruth Lake Lodge Resort regarding my pet having been granted access to the resort. (Guest must communicate pets’ presence at time of reservation. Only domestic house pets accepted)

  1. Pet must be fully trained and appropriately leashed by guest when on the property or inside the main office; pets cannot roam free at any time on the property.
  2. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pet on resort property.
  3. Pet is not permitted on furniture- couches, chairs, beds.
  4. Guests must agree that their pet is never left unattended in the cottage unless the pet is confined to a crate/carrier
  5. Pets are permitted to swim in the lake; if taken off leash to swim, owners must be in complete control of their pet, otherwise keep your pet tethered to the owner. If other guests of the Resort are at the main beach, pet must remain on leash at all times.
  6. Take your dog for walk to “take care of business” before you get to the beach. Avoid letting your dog urinate or defecate at the main beach area. There’s lots of grass around, find an appropriate spot. Always clean up after your dog, even if they go in the forest.
  7. Pets must be dry before entering the Cottage. Let us know if you need pet towels.
  8. Pets are not allowed in the Lodge, Cedar Cottage, Sauna building, greenhouse/vegetable garden.
  9. Dogs bark. We understand. But, please get the barking under control to ensure other guests are not inconvenienced.
  10. Guests are fully responsible, morally and financially, for any and all damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pet’s presence during their stay.
  11. Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ruth Lake Lodge Resort, its owners and its operators from all liability and damage suffered as a result of the pet’s presence.
  12. Resort owners reserve the right to perform room inspections during your stay. For the protection of you as a guest, we encourage you to contact the front desk and ask for an inspection of your cottage/campsite before you check-out.
  13. A fee of $50 per stay, per pet will be added to the guest invoice to cover additional cleaning time required at check-out.
