Activities at the Resort

Kayak rental to explore peaceful Ruth Lake

The spring and summer bring great fishing. Ruth Lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout, Kokanee (fresh water salmon) and Burbot (fresh water cod). Fishing licenses are available at the Forest Grove gas station or online at

Information on the stocking program is available at

Peek into a robin's nest to observe their babies in the spring. Listen to the haunting cry of a loon on the lake. Catch the movement of the Sandhill Cranes in the Sanctuary, our neighboring wetlands. We have an incredible variety of birds so bring your binoculars!

Birdwatching on acreage and wetland
enjoying a swim

Ruth Lake is relatively shallow, so the water warms up nicely in the summer.  Swimming near the Resort shoreline is fun for the whole family.  There is no lifeguard on duty, so life vests are required for all children under 16 years of age.  (we have a good selection available or bring your own).  Adults must supervise their children (of all ages) at the waterfront.

Although you can find hiking adventures year-round in the South Cariboo, the fall season attracts those who love the cooler temperatures and the colorful landscape that comes with the leaves transitioning from green to gold and red. A nature photographer’s paradise!

For hunters in search of deer, moose and other wild game, Crown land is accessible from the Resort property.
